From Plot to Pot recipe submission

Use a clear, descriptive name that tells what the dish is (eg Creamy Courgette and Pasta)

Write a short blurb below the title explaining the inspiration behind the dish, its texture or flavour, and any key background context.  (eg This was my mother’s favourite way to use up extra vegetables or A little twist on a traditional Portuguese dish)

State up front exactly how much the recipe makes (e.g., "serves 4" or "makes 12 muffins").

Include prep time, cooking time, and total time so the cook knows what to expect.

  • List ingredients in the exact order they are used in the method.

  • Provide exact measurements where you can (e.g., grams, millilitres, cups or measuring spoons) Sometimes recipes call for a “a pinch of salt” or may say “season to taste.”

  • Specify the state of the ingredient at the time of use (e.g., "1 small onion, finely diced" or "2 large eggs, beaten" )

  • Break the cooking process down into short, numbered steps.

  • Begin each step with a clear action verb (e.g., whisk, sauté, simmer).

  • Include specific heat settings, pan or cookware sizes, and visual or sensory doneness cues (e.g., "cook until golden brown and fragrant, about 5 minutes").

Add notes on how to store leftovers, how long the food keeps, or what to pair it with.

Add a picture of your dish (optional)
