Summer GardenFest 2024

What a beautiful day we had at our Summer GardenFest this year.  The sun shone.  Over 200 guests visited the show and enjoyed the music from Mick and Mel, and Philip Robbins, cooked their food at our BBQs and checked out the entries in our show tent.  As always, the entries reflect the type of year we've all had, so there was a dearth of roses and extra long beans, but this was made up for in some of our new categories, including the tied bunch of herbs.

Visitors to the show were asked to pick their favourite scarecrow, with Roger Elvy and his creation "Claude Balls" taking first prize.  

Our committee and trustees chose Jose Henriques from our Priory Road site as the best kept allotment.  Janice Morgan at Tutts Barn had the best kept raised bed, and Stephen Peacock and Marcus Jordan of Gorringe Road took best newcomers.  All well-deserved winners.
